Travel to Skien

Skien is 2 hours and 15 minutes from Oslo by train, or 30 minutes from Sandefjord Airport Torp (TRF), which is the nearest airport. If you travel from Denmark, it’s possible to take the ferry from Hirtshals to Langesund, which is a 30 minutes drive away, and from Sweden you can take the ferry from Strömstad to Sandefjord, which is 30 minutes away by train or 45 mins by car.

Sandefjord Airport is mostly served by low-cost carriers Ryanair and Wizz Air as well as KLM and Widerøe. Oslo Lufthavn Gardermoen (OSL) have connections to most European airports. Direct trains between OSL and Skien depart every hour and takes 3 hours.

When do you need to arrive?

The obligatory programme starts Thursday at 09:00. We encourage you to arrive on Wednesday to be there in time, and to be able to take part in optional programme Wedenesday evening.
Accomodation from Wednesday to Thursday is included in your larp ticket.

(It is hower in theory possible to make it to Skien in time if you take the earliest train from Oslo on Thursday morning)

What happens on Wednesday?

There will be a tour of Skien by day at 14:00 and a tour of Skien by night at 21:00.

There will be supper at 20:00.

It will be possible to get into most of the venues to prepare it for the larp by putting up small props, posters, pictures etc ahead of play.

There will a hangout space open where you can meet other players.

What happens on Thursday?

There will be a pre-larp workshop starting at 09:00. Play starts around 16:00.

For the last part of the workshop, you will go to your embassies and have a short seperate workshop in each embassy.

Participation in the pre-larp workshop is mandatory to play the larp.

What happens on Saturday?

Play ends around 15:00, followed by a post-larp workshop with a bit of structured talk about the experience. There will then be a bit of free time to change and get ready for the afterparty that starts at 19:00.

Accomodation from Saturday to Sunday is included in your ticket.

What happens on Sunday?

After breakfast, we hope that you will help us clean the embassies. We understand that some of you have to catch early flights, but we would appreciate if as many as possible can stay in Skien a bit into the day on Sunday.
